Active Arts NZ gains charitable status

Active Arts NZ gains charitable status.   July 2019 Active Arts NZ attained charitable status with the charities commission in acknowledgement of our charitable purpose to ‘to raise active participation and creativity in life through the performing arts’.

We are delighted to have as Trustees Elisabeth Easther, Janine (Nina) Burchett and Fiona Mogridge.

Fringe Festival 2020

Again, this year we have delighted in the talent and energy of our senior poetry group who staged ‘An Oldie But a Goodie’ at the Selwyn Theatre to an enthusiastic and lively audience.  From WH Auden to Shakespeare and much in-between they delighted audiences with tales of child hood memories and poems of teenage lust, linked with the themes of love and loss.

Grant Funders

We are delighted to have as recent supporters of our community work the Lion Foundation, to support the 2020 Fringe Festival ‘An Oldie but a Goodie’.  The Albert Eden Community Grant Board has generously supported us again this year to deliver poetry sessions with seniors in an aged care home in the area.
